Book Club

I started hosting a monthly readalong back in June 2021 and I'm so glad I did! My two great loves, books and yarn, all in one space. Doesn't get much better than that!

About a week before the month/book club starts, we vote for the book in our General Book Chatter channel in discord, so make sure you're following along if you want to vote! Or sometimes, for everyone's sanity, I just choose the book myself. Once the book has been selected, I create a channel for it on my discord under the Current Readalongs section and the schedule is posted and pinned to that channel.

*All discussions are held on my discord server at 6pm MT on their scheduled day--usually a Monday unless we have more than one going at a time.

Rules

  • We read for JOY. This is not a space where we heavily critique books. If that is what you are looking for, this is not the space for you.
  • This is a SAFE space. We read primarily romantasy, but also some dark romance. Sex, kinks, whatever you find yum is all discussed and accepted. We do not judge anyone for what they like, don't like, know, don't know, etc. If you put others down, you are not welcome and will be banned.
  • The entire discord is a POSITIVE space. If people are really loving the book (or literally anything in any channel), please do not rip it apart. This dampens our joy and I'm sure you wouldn't want someone else to do the same for anything you enjoy.
  • Give others the benefit of the doubt. Ask clarifying questions if you are unsure of their meaning or feel someone is being negative. If you are feeling unsafe or triggered, please contact me (or Caytie @crochatnoir) to help you if you want/need.
  • You are not obligated to finish the book. If you start it and you get too busy or find it isn't for you, that's okay! Protect your peace (and ours) and don't finish the book. You can always join in for the next one or chat other books in the general book channel.
