Alicia and I are super excited to cohost another Stitches & Stories knitalong for you guys for our Bibliophile Cardigan collaboration!

The Details

Who: You! Anyone can participate

What: A readalong AND knitalong! We will be reading some fantasy novels (TBD) while we knit--you can read or listen to an audiobook, totally up to you.

When: October 1, 2024 - January 19th, 2025

Where: Instagram for posting; we will use my discord server for our group chat.

Why: Because it's fun! There will also be prizes!

Pattern Info

  • You can make any of the 3 Bibliophile Sweater patterns or the NEW Bibliophile Cardigan pattern!

Here is the info for the Bibliophile 1 Sweater pattern (Grab it on Ravelry)

  • Finished Bust Circumference: 32 (36, 40, 44, 48, 52)[56, 60, 64, 68, 72, 76] inches / 81.5 (91.5, 101.5, 112, 122, 132)[142, 152.5, 162.5, 172.5, 183, 193] cm
    • Intended to be worn with 2-4"/5-10cm positive ease
  • Gauge: 24 sts and 28 rows = 4 inches/10 cm in stockinette on larger needles
  • Needles: US 6/4.0 mm and US 4/3.5 mm circulars and coordinating DPNs or 9" circulars if not magic looping
  • Yardage: 1025 (1150, 1250, 1375, 1500, 1650)[1775, 1900, 2000, 2175, 2275, 2350] yards / 925 (1050, 1150, 1275, 1375, 1500)[1625, 1750, 1850, 1975, 2075, 2150] meters
    • Please note the yardages are estimates and your actual usage will vary depending upon gauge, length, neckline choice, modifications, etc.

  • Notions: 6 (6, 7, 7)(7, 7, 7, 7)(8, 9, 9, 9) mm buttons (approx "/cm diameter), 6 stitch markers of different colors, stitch holders or scrap yarn, darning needle for weaving in ends.
  • Notes: This cardi is worked from the top down flat, with short row shaping at the neck, & compound raglan shaping at the raglan edge for a better fit. Buttonband is worked simultaneously with the sweater. Sleeves are worked in the round.

    Some Rules:

    • Using one of my bases is preferred, but absolutely not required.
    • You must make a Bibliophile pattern.
    • Be friendly; no putting down others/body shaming/anything unkind. There is zero tolerance for negativity here.
    • You must start your project on or after October 1st. The goal is to finish by the close of the KAL on January 19th, but you can still join in and are eligible for prizes if you don't finish on time but have participated in our chat. This is a relaxed, fun knitalong 🖤
    • Use the hashtag on a grid post to document your project(s)! This is how we will be tracking entries for the prizes. Please tag us in the actual photo too!
